I found on chemotherapy my feet and fingers are numb. My tongue is also numb and taste buds not functioning. It made me realize how rejection of the prompting of the Holy Spirit not to sin creates a "Spiritual Neuropathy" in people. When you are not "tuned in" to His voice, you begin to "bump" into sin if not watching carefully where you walk. You pick up items and can't feel them hot or cold. Your tongue cannot distinguish the bad from the good and can easily burn, too. You cannot taste the delights of food and loose all interest in nourishing your body because of the lack of flavor. Psalm 34:8 says: "Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him". "Spiritual Neuropathy" causes an insensitivity of what comes out of your mouth, defiling God. If you want joy and contentment in ALL circumstances, verbally be thankful and praise God daily in your walk with Him. Remember the child's Bible song to avoid "Spiritual Neuropathy"> O be careful little eyes what you see, O be careful little eyes what you see For the Father up above He's looking down in love, So, be careful little eyes what you see.
O be careful little ears, what you hear O be careful little ears, what you hear For the Father up above is He's looking down in love, So, be careful little ears, what you hear.
O be careful, little tongue what you say O be careful, little tongue what you say For the Father up above He's looking down in love So, be careful little tongue what you say.
O be careful little hands what you do O be careful little hands what you do For the Father up above He's looking down in love So, be careful little hands what you do.
O be careful little feet where you go O be careful little feet where you go For the Father up above He's looking down in love So, be careful little feet where you go.
O be careful little heart whom you trust O be careful little heart whom you trust For the Father up above He's looking down in love So, be careful little heart whom you trust.
