Maria DeAngelo
2008

Maria DeAngelo is the 6th child and daughter of Joe
and Karen DeAngelo. Performing in over 30 different shows, Maria started acting with the
RCCAA’s Youth Arts Players at age 8, and developed her love for the theatre. In
2001 Maria was accepted into the YAP All-Stars program. She has had the
privilege of acting in the RCCAA’s productions of “Scrooge” the Musical( two years ),
A Christmas Carol, and “Carrousel”. In
’01 and ’02 she performed in the drama of life and death “The Glory and the Fire”. Some other
favorites were “Children of Eden" ( Yonah ), "Oklahoma!" ( Gertie ) and “And Then There Were None”
( Emily Brent). She attended Christian Fellowship Ministries and enjoyed working at
Agape’ Christian Academy with kindergarteners for 2 years. She was home schooled and
attended Richmond High School for Art, Theater, and music for 2 years. Special
thanks to her early director and mentor, Vickie McCalley and Jill Jones.
Maria has taken voice instruction with Christy Bravo at Wm Jewel
College.
Maria loved doing mission work in South Africa, speaking on Character development to children in August 2006
and for 6 weeks in March-April 2007 through dramatic Character Skits. She
visits hospitalized children with AIDS in South Africa. No fear...just
spread the love of Jesus!
She is currently a Full Time Missionary in South Africa, teaching in a private school.

where Christianity Reigns on stage.
Maria says she owes all her
credits to her Lord, Jesus Christ and plans to serve HIM!

Maria is a actress, pianist, singer and artist.
She hope to perfect her dance this year in South Africa while being taught by a
competition Ballroom dancer.

She also writes poetry.
She has performed in over 30 live productions with the Ray County Youth Arts, Ray
County Community Arts Association and Richmond High School at the
historical Farris Theater in
Richmond, Missouri;

Maria was one of the first 10
children chosen from our county, to be trained in play production in
the Ray County Youth Arts All Stars. She learned writing, directing,
lighting, sound, choreography, scenery, props, and advanced acting.
Maria LOVES theater!
In
2006 she won 2nd place as a FRESHMAN in the District High School Acting
Competition.
Summer 2006, she assisted Directing Drama Camp under Vickie McCalley, who won
the
2007 Missouri State Art Award From the Missouri Arts Council.

Maria played the role of Nancy in "Oliver Twist", Sept. 2003,
age 13...
the 14th Production she had been in.
Another of her dreams, was to be in the adult production of "Scrooge", the
musical..,

There is a "rumor" at the
Farris Theater that there is a "Ghost".
Well, I used to take it with a grain of salt, until this photo..
That shadow of light next to Maria was not on the stage, but we caught
"it" in the photo.
