The Story Of 'Mistletoe"

This is CHIEF PUPPY SNUGGLER, Glori, with
Mistletoe after her first bath!

Here I am getting my first combing.
I think I like it!

My Name is "Mistletoe" because I LOVE to KISS!

All that playing wore me out!
I'll just take a nap...

Thank you so much for your patience with me and for being so responsive to everything, I really do appreciate it! We have named her Lilly because she reminds us of a sweet, delicate, little flower and she smelled so good when we got her! So lil' Lilly is her name! We all have fallen in love with her and she is really starting to feel at home here with us. She always has a lap or shoulder to cuddle up to and loves to be with us! She has been such a good girl, sleeping through the night, and pottying outside as long as we get her outside frequently.  I will send pics as soon as I figure out how to send them with email. I'm not that computer savvy, but I am learning. My husband will help when he gets a free moment. Thank you again for everything, and she was definitely worth the wait!God Bless! Jen

Karen,
I am Michelle Parnell Rohrer. I bought Cori from you (sterling silver brindle, out of Michelle Kwan) 8 years ago.
I have remarried a wonderful Christian ma, Glenn Rohrer. He has a a darling 31 year old daughter who is handicapped (she was born with a brain tumor) and lives with her mother and step-father in Barstow. She is developmentally about 8 years old and has some health problems (seizures and balance) but is a very sweet girl and loves animals. We are talking with her mother about getting her a puppy. She absolutely loves Cori and if we all do decide to get her a dog it would likely be a Shih Tzu and it would have to come from you! I told Glenn that you understand about Tammy because of your daughter Christina.
Glenn adores Cori and has gone from not really caring about dogs (his ex wife's dogs were monsters) to adoring and spoiling Cori. He also has an Army son (a captain who received a Bronze Star last year). We're very proud of him and -- and also have 4 other children (and 6 grandchildren  -- he made me a grandmother!)Hope you and your tribe are doing very well, too.
Blessings,Michelle Rohrer Sierra Madre, CA
P.S. Cori sends her love. Her companion, Shih Tzu, Cati, went to wait for us in Heaven last August and Cori is lonely during the day. But we take her over to visit her Nonnie (Glenn's mum) and her Shih Tzu brother (a rescue puppy).

Subject: Where do I begin?

It's 11:30 PM and I think I may start getting some sleep lol. Karen I want to tell the world how EXCITED I am to get our baby! I was so anxious that I been up since 4am getting ready for work, getting Cappucino's things ready and also getting my baby son's birthday cake.
I got to the airport 1 hour early and her flight came in at 8:09 pm. Tell Joe I apologize for waking up his wife at 11 pm lol.People at the airport LOVED her. Karen I had to tell you that Cappucino smells AMAZING she is so fat and OMG her fur! It's absolutely gorgeous and so soft NOT dry. NO fleas, NO icky stuff and definitely NO problems what so ever! She is definitely is SOCIALIZED and kids proof! Her eyes are clear and pretty, her nose and teeth are PERFECT! Her body is so fat and cuddly she reminds me of a teddy bear. Her scar from her being spayed you CANNOT see it! She is laying on my daughter's Lashayla's lap falling asleep. She already ate and went potty lol. She is very calm and definitely lively. She kissed me and my kids the whole time when we got home.
I want to tell people do NOT be afraid of sight unseen. You will be VERY impressed with Karen and her quality she is FIRST class. She even gave me a hand signed card, her shot records, micro-chip number and her pedigree and papers. I will be getting my SECOND Glory Ridge dog in March and can't wait! Karen has the most prettiest handwriting I have ever seen. She answered all 56,000,00 million questions I had lol. Karen called and email-ed me with flight info and making sure that I got all the information that I needed.
I am including pictures and I want to say Karen I appreciate you MORE then you ever know. I am very proud of you taking a STAND against the devil! Keep on doing what you do best and that is taking care of a business that GOD gave you with the help of your daddy. Karen if you need to use me as a reference please do so I don't mind. People need to know how amazing you are! I mean that and it shows with our baby and you being such a great person. You will forever be in our family and we love you Karen, Thank You for making my grey skies blue again ((((hugz)))

Subject: RE: Ching

Hi Karen
Ching is doing very well. She is a silly girl, she thinks she is still a puppy. She steals socks from our laundry baskets and thrashes them around. Not really causing damage, just playing. She has finally learned the stairs. Poor thing would cry like a banchee at the top of the steps so I took her down step by step (like I do a puppy) and she caught on fast. I have to say, faster than Amy did. :)

We are very interested in adding some more Glory Ridge quality adults to our program this year.
We found a  great vet who has worked with a Shih Tzu breeder before and seems to be very knowledgeable, (eccentric and kooky as the good ones always are) He is all for spaying and neutering around 8-9 weeks as well.
He gave Devlin and Celeste a clean bill of health, and was VERY impressed with Celeste's coat color, she really is a doll, so hard to let her go! Anyway they are going home this Sat :(
Thanks and I look forward to finding out more about your adults for sale.

Subject: New pics on your site

Dear Karen,
I just took a look at your site today and have to tell you that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the pictures you have of Glori and Mistletoe!!  How adorable!  It really looks as though Glori takes her "job" very seriously.  :^)

Sirius (Jazzy X Stymie) started beginner class this past weekend.  We'll see how that goes, since he's very attached to his mom and dad, and didn't want to come out from behind our legs!  He'll get it though.  Motivating him with little snacks will not be a problem!  He has not come across a food he doesn't like!

I hope you and your family are doing well.
 Take care,

Subject: puppies

Hi Karen, My Coconut (from Plum and Burnie) will be 9 months old this February 25th.  She is an angel.  I believe she is going to top out at about 10 pounds.  I'm waiting to get another puppy, but I was curious about what happened to all of Betty's puppies.  I see you don't mention them any more.  I wish I had bought Mistletoe when I had the chance.  She is unbelievably cute, and I love the pictures of her and Glori.
Before I bought Coconut, I got a Shi Tzu from a local "breeder."  He is TERRIBLE.  He is aggressive and when I took him to obedience school to try and gain control of him, the instructor insisted that I keep him away from the other dogs.  He has bit a neighborhood boy, he weighs 25 pounds, and his jaw juts out like a bull dog's.  The dog loves me dearly, but I must keep him in the garage and outside, which he prefers by the way.  He has the run of the yard, and I keep him safe because with an invisible fence.  I cannot keep him in the house full time because he destroys everything.  He, of course, is the result of bad breeding, someone wanting to make a quick buck.  Because it is not his fault, I keep him.  Oh, what a difference my Coconut is. She is the lap baby that I wanted when I bought the other dog, and she is constantly with me.  Even though she's still a puppy, and she likes to play, she has never been hyperactive or bothersome.  Coconut is a kissy, love muffin, and I adore her.  I guess you really do get what you pay for.   Keep up the good work!

Hi Karen,
I bought Twix (now Bailey) from you in August - he is doing great and growing so fast!!  I enjoy him so much!  I wanted to ask you for recommendations on adult dog food.  I'm going to be changing him over to adult food in the next month or so.  Right now, he is on Pedigree.  I would like to move him up to a higher end food and thought you would be the person to ask.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!  Thank You!

Subject: Her first bath was amazing! Please tell people
Good morning Karen I had to tell you about a update on Cappucino. She had her first bath yesterday and OMG her fur! It feels fake! It is sooo amazingly lush and thick just like you said. It is even silkier after her bath she was a little bit scared of the blow dryer but that will come with time though. She did amazing and wasn't scared to be bathed or be brushed and combed. I can't wait to get Valentine because he will be just as beautiful! People have to know that you STAND behind your word 100%.

I had a Shih Tzu before and he was garbage compared to Cappucino. His fur was thin and dry. He became MOODY after he was neutered at a later age. He wasn't a fat fur baby like I have here. When he used to scratch his leg he would cry. I think something was wrong with his body. YIKESSSS! His teeth were crooked and his eyes were NOT beautiful and round or PERFECT like Cappucino's. He sounded like he came from a BACKYARD breeder who was out to make a quick buck!
I can go on and on and this is HOW a Shih Tzu is suppose to be! Fat BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUS, SILKY FUR and STUNNING! She sounds alot like me lol.
Let people know too Karen that you are an HONEST to GOD breeder! I knew that all along, that's why I haven't asked you a gazillion questions because I KNOW what I will be getting! A dog that is AMAZING! If I had a big enough Apt I would have gotten 4 by now I might get 3 there like Lays you can't get ENOUGH! Especially when they are TOP NOTCH and GORGEOUS and most of all QUALITY!

Subject: puppy referrals in Rhode Island
Hi Karen-It’s Erika Kruse from Rhode Island.  I purchased Lucie (Kissy x Redd) over three years ago and she is doing beautifully.  I just wanted you to know that due to your fine breeding, Lucie has been a stellar example of Gloryridge.  I have sung your praises to several people in Rhode Island who have bought from you.

Vito  of North Providence, just received his second pup from you a couple of months ago.  He and I work together at the RI Supreme Court.  Additionally, Joseph , with whom I also work at the Supreme Court, has recently purchased a pup from you as well.  I also recently referred another person, Donna , to Gloryridge and expect that you’ll be hearing from her soon as well.

You have quite a contingency in Rhode Island now.  Your fine work continues!!

Many thanks,Erika Kruse (and Lucie too).

Subject: thanks for pup

  Karen-

I wanted to write you a quick not to tell you thanks for breeding such a wonderful pup. Our little Bodhi is awesome! He just loves the kids and is so well adjusted, it is amazing. When we brought him home from the airport he immediately started playing. He goes right into his crate when he wants to sleep. We had him at the vet the day after we got him and she said that he was in really good health and had one of the most beautiful coats she has ever seen on a shih-tzu. He is very loving and playful. We look forward to getting another GR pup in the future.
I am enclosing a few pictures.
Thanks again!

Subject: UPDATE AND HELLO

Karen, I don’t know if you remember me.  I have Scout and Rookie and my sister just got her precious Abby in December.  I wanted to share with you how precious my two babies have been.  Jimmy (my husband) had been sick for many years.  He received a bone marrow transplant in 1993 and recovered from the transplant, but had many health complications due to the transplant.  God called for him on February 17th and he is finally at peace with no pain.  Scout and Rookie grieved for him like humans grieve, Rookie more than Scout.  Rookie was his little one.  Scout is more mine.   They are so precious to me now more than ever.  I can cuddle with them and we share a love that is no longer with us but is felt between us.  It is so amazing how smart and loving your dogs are.  Thank you so much for helping me pick the right two for our family.  Sister’s little Abby is precious.  She is about 4 pounds now and is tiny boned.  She reminds me so much of Scout at that age.  She goes everywhere with them.  She is quite the jetsetter and has such a personality.  We laugh at her all the time.  What an attitude she can display.  Again, I am so blessed to of found you and your Shih Tzu’s.  I am sure I will be another returning customer.
