1/14/02: This Letter MADE MY DAY!
Hi Karen,
I was just looking through the beautiful babies available on your site, and felt compelled to write you and tell you how much I've enjoyed my Glory Ridge pup. Michiko is 2 years old now, and has brought more joy to more people than I can tell you. We were living in San Francisco when she arrived, and soon afterward moved to New York City where Michi enjoyed rides on the subway and strolls through Central Park and down 5th Avenue with all the other pedigreed New York dogs. In February of 2001 we moved to Washington, DC where she strolled the mall and visited Lincoln, Jefferson and Washington. She even walked the grounds at Mt Vernon and Monticello. On Sept. 11th she was in the car with me picking up fleeing federal workers and ferrying them to their homes when the terrorist attacks shut down transportation and set the cities of Washington, DC and NY into a state of panic. I will tell you that she licked every face and was so glad to see everyone who jumped into my car. On that terrible day it was a Shih Tzu from Glory Ridge that made people smile a little bit - probably the only smile they had that day. In October we decided to move back to LA so we loaded the SUV and drove across country where Michi visited many cities, and trod on Elvis Presley's front yard. Now back in LA, Michi visits the movie studio where I work often and brings cheer and joy to busy movie people. Soon we will undergo training so that she can visit a local nursing home and be a source of joy to them as well.
I just wanted to let anyone out there who is considering one of your amazing little dogs know that Shih Tzu's are wonderful ambassadors and great companions. This little Glory Ridge pup has done her bit in helping to heal the nation after September 11th. Thanks again, Karen, for bringing her to me.

Hi Karen - Just wanted to send you a note finally since our little Molly just had her first birthday, she was from Posh's litter last January. I don't know where to begin about how much joy and laughter this sweet little dog has brought to our lives. I could go on and on about how much she makes us laugh with her expressive nature and her spunky energy, but I know it is the same as the hundreds of stories you get from all of your customers. I have read several of the letters that you have posted and I am always amazed that their stories are the same as mine. Everybody that meets Molly just
loves her.
The one thing that I do want to share is about how much I think Molly has helped our other little Shih-Tzu Natty. We rescued Natty almost 3 years ago from the shelter. She was in desperate need of love and was severely neglected and probably abused. Natty suffers from separation anxiety, food allergies and thunderphobia - I am often told that I must be crazy for having put up with her and all of her "issues", let alone for then wanting another dog.
From the time we got Natty she would pee the minute that we left. She was well behaved when we were home and easily trained, but would shake and panic the minute we started out the door. We tried everything from Crate Training, Behavior Modification, Exercise, and Medication. And while some things lessened the problem, nothing really worked. When we first got Molly, Natty was still on medicine. At first she didn't take to Molly and she would not have a lot to do with her. I don't think when Natty was one her own that we realized how much the medication affected her personality, until the day we stopped the meds and she showed marked improvement with Molly. They started playing - we call them crazy races - all through the house, wrestling and chasing toys. Now 7 months later, Natty is 10 times better. Although there are times she still piddles a bit when we leave, for
the most part we come home to a clean penned area.
Molly doesn't leave Natty alone and always wants to play. She swats at the air with her paw as if to say "Come on, don't you know it's time to play!" I think Molly has also been something for Natty to look after and protect. She rarely lets Molly go out alone and will lead her back to us by chasing her if Molly is being Miss Independent. The girls love to go on their walk and are the hit of the neighborhood. They just love the kids and can't get enough tummy rubs from anyone willing to hand them out.
Anyway, I just want to thank you for such a sweet and loving little dog. I can't tell you how much she means to us. I have attached pictures of the girls from Halloween and Christmas (these are only a few of the tons of pictures I have taken - Molly now comes running when she hears the shutter on my camera open!) Molly is the little devil and Natty is the angel, although I think those roles are reversible.
Thanks again! Take Care - Jana McNiece (Fort Wayne, IN)

Annie and Katie are doing great! Katie was definitely the best thing we could have ever gotten for Annie. They are inseparable and the best of friends. It's amazing how different their personalities are.
We hope you received our Christmas card - I wanted you to see how the girls have grown. My mom makes them little
bandanas for the different holidays and seasons. Katie like to get the corner of hers in her mouth so that she can suck on
it. She still nurses on a little toy - it is her security blanket. At night, we tell her "Get your baby, Katie"... and she runs to
her baby and carries it back to the bed in her mouth. It's very sweet.
Hope you and your family have a great new year in 2002!

Gracie is wonderful, shipping went great. We picked her up at cargo with no
problems. The Lady attendant said she got to spend 25 minutes with her on
the trip to the cargo center, and she didn't make a peep. We let her out of
the case as soon as we got her. The attendant assured me that if I wanted to
sell her right then she would take her. I gave her your website.

Gracie is so friendly, she loves on everyone. The vet said she was very well
socialized. I again acredited you. I have a very large family up here and
she has been wonderful with all of them. Stole the hearts of my in-laws, and
they say she will be the perfect size for a Supercub airplane dog. She loves
taking trips with me in the car, and sleeps in our bed with Carl and I. What
a blessing these dogs are.

A week after we recieved her, I was offered a dog sitting job. My neighbor
own a 5 month old Bishon. I didn't know how this was going to work. They did
fine, Gracie is so social with other dogs, she scares my mom-in-laws 120lb
Black Labordor. She played nice with them and my neghbor expects her to do
really well in puppy class.
Thank you again for such a blessing, she has made us very happy. I guess you
can chaulk us up to another satisfied customer.
Thank you, Aletha Dillon
P.S. Friends of ours are looking for the same kind of dog, so we gave them
sometime with Gracie and they might contact you, they were really impressed.

Hi Karen! How are you? I just wanted to write and let you know how the little bug is doing... with all the fun we have been havingit has been hard to find the time to sit down and write. He is everything I have ever wanted and more... I can't believe hes finallyhere with me! His name fits him PERFECTLY!

Picking him up at the airport was one of the biggest joys of my life. It is a moment in time that is frozen in my memoryforever...one that was so emotional and beautiful that I can't even put words to it. To see that little face looking at me for the firsttime was incredible. As we were pulling in to park the car his plane was landing. We went to the desk and they radioed down to
bring him up. As we waited the man on the radio kept calling up saying what a good puppy he was and how cute.... when he gotup to us I broke into tears i was so happy. He came right out of the crate and it was like we had known each other for ever andever... boy Karen did he ever draw a crowd!!! I can't tell you how many people asked if he was real... He suckled on my fingers
curled up under my chin and we haven't been apart since.

We brought him home and he must have played for 36 hours straight. He is such a fiesty playful little thing, but such a cuddlebug too. Oh, I love him so much... it was a match made in heaven! =) His "potty pad" training is coming along perfectly. He knows how to sit and we are working on downs, comes, and he loves to roll over for treats. He's so smart (and clever) I can't even believe it. He's not keen on being in the crate with the door closed but loves his little space if i leave the door open.

He has his first vet appt. on Saturday to get his next round of shots. Thank you so much for this incredible gift you have given tome. He is pure joy. Please tell Sheila thank you as well for doing such an incredible job raising him and socializing him. He's Mr. Persoanlity plus.

Stewie and I send our love to you and your family and hope that you are all having fun preparing for Christmas. Thank You again
for EVERYTHING!!

Love,
Krissy & Baby Stewie

HI Karen,

Well Sami just made 6 months old. She's the best thing that has happened to me in years. I just love her so much, she brings me so much happiness. She was spayed yesterday. I was really scared as I heard so many stories here from girls I work with about how sick their dogs were after. She was awake and wagging her tail and so happy to see me when I picked her up. The vet who did her was American and so nice. I was all prepared that I was going to have a melt down when I saw her, but I didn't because she was so happy and looked so good. I stay with her constantly to take care of her for
three days. She's so good, when she starts to bite, or lick at the suture line, I say "No" and she immediatly stops. She does't appear to be in much pain. She eats, walks etc. I think it's been harder on me than her! She weighs 5 pounds 4 ounces now and is SOOOO cute. I swear she is famous all over camp, people red of how much worse this will get. When you hear about airlines going out of business etc. Very scarey. Wow I sure picked a great time to come work here. That's
it. Just wanted to update you on Sami. I hope you got that check from my Mom for a deposit on a red. Sami needs a friend.
 Thanks a lot Karen.

Karen,
Thank you so much for breeding this wonderful little dog!
What a Thanksgiving and Christmas gift!
I've named him Bailey! He is such a beautiful color. He has a fan club of
friends and business associates. He's definitely socialized and loves
everyone. My department at work actually gave me & Bailey a surprise party,
giving gifts of every toy a puppy could want.
I also have Burmese cats who are very gentle with him. They even play with
him, until he starts chewing their tails!
He is very smart and his housebreaking training is going very well. After
he's completed his series of shots (by mid January) I will be taking him to
puppy school which should be fun.
Thanks again. Have a wonderful Christmas. God bless you and your family.
Betsy

Dear Karen,

I wanted to let you know that Winston and Bailey are
doing well. They recently received their Canine Good
Citizen Test Certificate. Our next test will certify
us to do therapy work. The dogs are sweet and
healthy. They are "the stars" wherever we go. I hope
you are well. Take care and God bless you and your
family.

Karen,
It's been awhile since I wrote, but I wanted to update you on Tzuzi. Last April I purchased Tzuzi from you. She was
and is the cutest little thing. She is now 7 months old and she is such a joy. Last night she hopped up in my lap for
her evening grooming and bestowed on me so many little kisses. She loves to romp and play with our bassett hounds
and our beagle mix. Our youngest bassett hound is her best canine friend. I remember how worried my husband was
about her size next to our bassett hounds, but now even that worry has been eliminated as she scolds them when the
two bassett hounds disagree with one another.

She graduates tonight from Petsmart basic training class. In August, she graduated from puppy kindergarten. My
hope is to get her a CGC award by spring. She was spayed at the end of August. We are having so much fun with
her. We took her down to Branson and Eureka Springs with us in September. Everyone just loves her. She was
rarely asked to stay outside of any shop or attraction. Silver Dollar City no longer allows dogs and dogs are not
allowed on the Eureka Springs trams. Those were the only places she was not allowed. Even some cafes welcomed
her. They would bring out bowls of water for her. Tzuzi loves to travel and shop with us. She will be traveling with
us at the end of November back down to Branson and Eureka Spring for Ozark Mountain Christmas.

Thanks Karen for breeding such wonderful little critters. I recommend your kennel every chance I get.

May God continue to bless you in your endeavor of raising Shih Tzu's and everything else you do.

Sincerely,Gail Malec

Hi Karen,
We wish you and your family a blessed Christmas! A Peaches update she is 8lbs and is 10 mths old, finally potty trained this was one little stubborn gal but I won the battle!
She has been the delight of my father n laws life, he is 88 and has had 3 strokes. She greets him every morning and does not jump and act roughty like she does when a kid comes in to the room. She has always sensed he is different, she will lie very still on her back while he rubs her tummy to say his good mornings to her. She has brought him so many smiles, he talks to her like she is a person and he tells us she is so smart and understand what he says to her, and I do believe they have a connection and that is LOVE.
Thank you for breeding such wonderful little friends for young and old, they are so versatile from minute to minute and always happy!
God Bless and Merry Christmas

Hi Karen,
Hope the holiday will find you and the family at peace.

I just wanted to let you know Charm is now 4lbs and she could be
her sister's twin (Kissy- Redd pup) . She is such a joy. Loving and peaceful,
happy and playful. My mother who is 73 was the first person to meet Charm
when she arrived home. Till this day Charm is crazy for her which makes my
mom as happy as can be.
Now Belle is a different story. She is
spunky and feisty like you said But get her in your arms and after the
initial barrage of kisses and head butts she is as mellow and laid back as
you can get. She just parks in your lap ands falls asleep.
Belle's
pad training is going good, she's gotten the hang of pooping on the pad and
avoiding stepping back into it. The first week she came home she became real
familiar with bathing and coat drying.
She's on her National Puppy Chow, and weighs 5lbs 5oz and will be 15
weeks old on Sunday. She and Charm I think are doing well together. Belle is
a cleptomaniac, she likes to have every thing Charm has. Thank goodness Charm
has such patience. They also love to chase, It's like watching the
Indianapolis 500 in the living room which is actually a great spectator
sport. Thank You for letting me have
Belle, she was such a surprise, and the best Xmas present I've had since I
was a teenager, when my parents bought me a transistor radio I would put
under my pillow at night to listen to the Beatles.Yes it sounds corny but
true.

Dear Karen,
I hope that this note finds you and your family well and peaceful this
holiday season....I apologize for not writing sooner on Basil.....I wanted to
be able to send you some pictures but they will not be ready for a few more
days....I will send them when they come in....I can not imagine what our
life was like before Basil. He has brought such a sweetness and joy to my
life that I will be forever grateful.
He is now a little over 6 months and is more beautiful then the first day I
saw him. We keep his coat long because it is sooo incredibly soft and
beautiful. And extremely easy to maintain. And his disposition is loving and
gentle.....he is the BIGGEST clown and seems to have the "tilt" of the head
that I have seen some of your dogs have on your site....the look that say's
"Who me?"..."Nah....not me".....so funny.
Thank you again Karen.....I hope that this holiday season brings you and your
family peace and joy....
Your Friend,
Michelle Fanelli and Basil
