FACTS

EVERY KENNEL HAS COCCIDIA!
1 EGG DIVIDES INTO 10'S OF 1000'S OF COCCIDIA. IT SHEDS THE VIRUS TO all PUPPIES.
Immature form lines the gut and ruptures cells in gut and causes severe disease.
Just as you vaccinate for PARVO and
DISTEMPER (which is back in the USA with a VENGEANCE)
You MUST PREVENT COCCIDIA or NONE of your vaccines will work!
Your pups will be SMALL, loose stamina due to anemia and get pneumonia.
You can't get rid of coccidia in a kennel. It is a very tough parasite. But these pups will NOT get coccidia if you give this religiously. At 12 weeks dogs get natural immunity to this parasite, so there is NO need to use it over 12 weeks. It will NOT KILL coccidia if they have it and it is showing itself in symptom. You HAVE to PREVENT the growth in their system until the build natural immunity.

Q: I've been battling bloody stools in my 13 week old puppies for weeks, we have treated them with all the regularly prescribed antibiotics. Nothing has been found in the stools I've taken to my vet.

Dr. Page: You need a complete physical of your puppies, and a fecal sample taken in the clinic office. A single sample does not necessarily tell you anything, you may have to test several puppies on several different days to find the problem from samples taken in the office. You might try panacur at 1cc per 4 1/2# body weight for 3 days, and repeat in one week. Give Tribrissen or Primor daily for 14 days as per their suggested dosage.

Q: So there is no cure for coccidiosis?

Dr. Page: No there is no cure for coccidiosis. Once you see the signs of diarrhea the coccidia has done its damage and left the puppy, so all you are treating the puppy for is the symptoms of coccidia and giving antibiotics for bacterial infections.

Q: Do puppies out-grow Coccidiosis?

Dr. Page: Yes, as puppies get past 10 to 12 weeks of age they develop a natural immunity to coccidia and do not show illness if exposed as a young puppy.

NOTE FROM KAREN ON COCCIDIA
Our dogs are guaranteed against coccidia (stress diarrhea) because we medicate for prevention.
STRESS causes this problem and it can be TOTALLY PREVENTED IF YOU medicate for it.
COCCIDIA is DEADLY and can cause DEATH in young pups.
It is expensive to treat. ($200+ a tube) BUT saving ONE pup recoups the cost.
AGE has NOTHING to do with it not effecting the pup. If you are sent a pup with it, they will GIVE IT to all your other dogs and cats. You will have HUGE vet bills. ONLY STEAM, fire or ammonia will kill it. Ammonia is dangerous to lungs, as with bleach.
OXINE is a GOOD, SAFE disinfectant, but will not get rid of coccidia 100%.
Getting a pup at 12 weeks is NO GUARANTEE you will not get it if the dog is not properly medicated against coccidia.
****Your vaccines will not work if the dog is infected.****
COCCIDIA HAS nothing TO DO WITH FILTH, like some vets will tell people.
It is a CONTAGIOUS parasite causing intestinal damage like parvo.

COCCIDIOSIS PREVENTION:

SULFADIMETHOXINE
12.5 TO 25 MG/lb DAILY FOR 28 DAYS:
10 days on-4 off-10 on
DOGS HATE THE TASTE AND DO NOT WILLINGLY DRINK THE STUFF.

or
Albon Suspension (Rx)
1cc per 2-4 LBS Daily
EXPENSIVE AND TIME CONSUMING, but dogs don't mind the taste.

Albon will kill coccidia, but it must be given 28 days: 10 on, 8 off, 10 on.
You have to use ALBON to KILL coccidia once the PUPPY has signs of it. Adults can overcome it with a few days of Albon.
MARQUIS WILL NOT WORK ONCE SYMPTOMS of coccidia MANIFEST.

OR
Albon 12 1/2% Solution
1cc per 5-10 LBS Daily
.5-10 cc (1/2 tsp) per gallon drinking water.
DOGS HATE THE TASTE AND DO NOT WILLINGLY DRINK THE STUFF.

NOTE; DO NOT GIVE SMZ TO BRACIALCEPHALIC DOGS AS IT MAY RUIN THE TEAR DUCTS.

THE BEST TREATMENT:

MARQUIS
("Mar-Key")
This is an Equine product (paste) for protozoa.
Many USDA and other Kennels are using it for dogs, successfully.
Marquis is a paste that is very expensive, but treats many, many litters.

MARQUIS will NOT KILL coccidia if they have an outbreak and it is showing itself in symptoms.
IT PREVENTS the coccidia growth in puppies system until they build natural immunity at around 12 weeks.
I have found pups are bigger and stronger since giving this Rx.
Runts survive 9 out of 10 times if no internal defect. I HIGHLY recommend this Rx.
REMEMBER:
Marquis will NOT kill full blown coccidia, only PREVENT it from an outbreak.

Marquis works 21 out of 28 days. It is no good for e-coli infections.
You must kill e-coli with antibiotics .

If you gave ALBON today, DO NOT give Marquis today.
If you need to give ALBON for Coccidia, it is TOO LATE to use MARQUIS. Continue the Albon as prescribed.

YOU NEED A PRESCRIPTION FROM YOUR VET

This is good if you have a small kennel and don't need a lot.
It is very difficult to mix (like toothpaste) and may be worth the
money to have them mix it.

Small Breed puppies up to 10 weeks of age:
Mix 1 part paste to 3 parts distilled water and give 1cc per 2.5-3.5 lbs of puppy.
Give Day 4, then 2,4,6,8 and 10 weeks of age by mouth.

Under 8 weeks Larger Breeds give 1cc straight paste per 15 lbs of puppy
Give Day 4, then 2,4,6,8 and 10 weeks of age by mouth.

Over 10 weeks old give 1cc per 10lbs week 11, week 13 and week 15

Coccidia is a very tough parasite, but these pups will NOT get coccidia if you give this religiously.
Coccidia will quickly cause anemia and pneumonia and any secondary infections possible, quickly killing puppies.

If you have coccidia and are treating with ALBON, they also need an antibiotic such as Clavomox.

DO NOT GIVE CORID. CORID IS TOXIC AT WRONG DOSAGE.

PARASITE CONTROL

Worm with PYRAN 50 EVERY WEEK starting at week one until weaned
1cc per 10 lbs
Waiting 2 weeks can KILL a PUP from HOOKS.
Hook larva are in Mom's milk! They are released from muscles of stressed moms.

THEN
Be Sure to use PANACUR OR STONGID T
at weaning for 3 days and repeat in 2 weeks to kill GIARDIA 100%.
Flagyl can cause LIVER DAMAGE. I do NOT use it.

EXTERNAL PARASITE PREVENTION:
Use Ivomectin POUR_ON (oil based) EVERY 14 days.
Apply to skin down back.
Start at 2-3 weeks. WILL NOT KILL whip worms.

Small Dogs: 1 part Ivomectin to 1 part 70% alcohol then 1cc per 7-11 lbs

Puppies: 1 part Ivomectin to 5 parts 70% rubbing alcohol

does 6 drops per pound of puppy on back skin
or 3/10 cc per lb.

Give RABIES according to State law.

HEART WORM PREVENTION FORMULA:
You MUST TEST for heart worm BEFORE you give Ivermectin to a dog or
you will KILL it if it HAS ADULT heartworms.
IVOMECTIN will KILL HERDING DOGS ALSO with or without heartworm.

2/10TH CC IVERMECTIN 1 % + 30 CC PYRAN 50
DOSE: 1CC PER 20 LBS by MOUTH EVERY 30 DAYS

If a dog has heartworm and a misquote bites it and goes and bites another dog, it WILL pass
the heartworms. TEST and MEDICATE ALL YOUR DOGS.

COMMON CANINE DISEASE CONTROL

We use NEOPAR PARVO Vaccine.
The ONLY Vaccine for PARVO that overrides maternal antibodies.

Manufacturer recommend dosage:
NEOPAR Parvo vaccine at 35 days, 49 days old, 10 weeks.
Add NEOVAC DA2 at 42 days, 56 days, 10 weeks and 14 weeks of age.

Pups die of PARVO between 6-8 weeks.
Give nutrical or dyne to KEEP the small pups SUGAR UP when stressed from the shot.
Do not vaccinate sick pups.

DO NOT GIVE CORONA AT ALL. THE VACCINE DOES NOT WORK.
Only pups under 2 weeks old are effected by CORONA.
The chemical put in the vaccine will act as a blocker of any other vaccine for 3 weeks.
The dead vaccine WILL NOT stop the disease.
Parainfluenza is NOT needed.
Do NOT use Lepto, Da1 in PARTIAL DOSES. Do not give lepto before 16 weeks.
Kennel Cough: use INTRANASAL, one dose only, but remember inject able antibiotics interfere with the vaccine.
You can cut water BY 1/2 before MIXING.
